The first time you open it
See what’s new in each version
ReelUse for Mac and Windows is a free public beta. The Mac app is signed and notarized, so your Mac opens it without a warning. The Windows installer is not signed, so the first time you open it Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”: choose More info, then Run anyway. Once it is open, ReelUse keeps itself up to date: it checks on launch and every few hours after that, then installs the new version and restarts.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL
A few practical things.
Do I need a separate account or plan?+
No. Sign in with your existing ReelUse account. Your plan, Branding and library are shared with the web app.
Which video files can I use?+
MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM and M4V. Use the original recording where possible. ReelUse works from what is in your file. Graphics already burned into the picture stay in the clips.
Should I leave the app open?+
Yes. Keep the app open while the run is working. If it closes or the computer goes to sleep, open the app again and it picks up where it stopped. Connect a laptop to power for longer videos, especially when clips are made on your computer.
Does the app work offline?+
No. Audio transcription, moment selection and library sync need an internet connection. The full recording stays on your computer.
Where will I find my finished clips?+
They appear in your shared ReelUse library. Desktop downloads go into the ReelUse folder inside Downloads. Use Show in Finder or Show in folder to locate them.
Is there a Linux version?+
Use ReelUse in your browser with a video link instead.
