See your Branding before your first video

The Branding preview now shows an example picture until you have a video of your own, so you can see your choices right away. On the Free plan it also shows the mark your clips carry.

Clips keep their look when you fix them

A clip made on your computer now keeps the Branding its run started with. Change your speed, logo or colour later, and fixing a word on an older clip still matches the rest of that run.

30 days to trim a clip made on your computer

The footage around each clip you make in the app now stays online for 30 days, up from 7, so you or your team can trim or extend it on the website for longer. Captions can still be fixed online after that.

Each color grade keeps its own percentage

Set Intensity for one color grade in Branding and it stays with that grade. Switching grades brings back the percentage you chose for each one.

Noir: clips in black and white

On Growth and Pro, pick Noir under Color grade in Branding for black and white with deep shadows, or choose it for one video in the Look panel.

Branding previews your latest video

The Branding preview now shows a frame from your newest video, including videos made on your computer in the app.

Music matched to each clip, with more variety

On Growth and Pro, upload your own tracks in Branding and choose Auto-match by mood under Music: each clip gets the track that best suits its mood. It now remembers your recent runs, so when several tracks fit, you hear the one played least recently.

More of your everyday tools are now standard

Browse all your clips in the Library's Clips view, star favorites and mark clips as posted. Speaker framing, automatic music matching, the extra caption controls and team invitations are now standard, within your plan's features.

Each caption style keeps its own settings

Caption styles are the looks for your captions in Branding, such as Anthem or Karaoke. Each style now keeps its own size, colors and position, so adjusting one leaves the rest alone. A style you have not touched starts at its defaults.

Your clips stay once you have paid

If you have paid for any plan, your clips are kept with no end date, including after you cancel or move to Free. Free accounts that have never paid keep clips for 30 days, with an email a week before any expire.

The moments you ask for come first

On Growth and Pro, open Moments on the start box before you run a video and describe the part you want in your own words. Clips that match it now come first for that video, labeled Matches your request.

Clips start on the point, not on “And”

A clip that would open on “And”, “So” or “But” starts on the next word, and so do its captions.

A smaller mark on Free clips, and edits that match their set

Free clips carry a small ReelUse mark in the top-right corner, clear of your captions. A clip you trim, recaption or give new music keeps the logo, outro and caption style its run was made with.

Sign in to the desktop app with a code or Google

The Mac and Windows app signs in with your email and password, a 6-digit code we email you, or Continue with Google, always to the account you choose in the app. New to ReelUse? A code sets up your account right there. Update the app to get it.

A sign-in code in every sign-in email

The sign-in email has a 6-digit code as well as the link. If the link opens in a different browser or says it was already used, type the code on the sign-in page.

The desktop app signs in to the account you typed

If your browser is signed in to a different ReelUse account from the email you type in the Mac or Windows app, the app stops and tells you, so you always land in the account you typed.

Your post kit, one tap away

Every clip has a Post kit button beside Download, with its titles and captions ready to copy. Once you post a clip, choose Where I posted it in its ··· menu on the website to note where it went.

Better titles and captions in every post kit

Titles are written for someone new to the speaker, and captions add what the clip leaves out, like the passage or the point just before. Older clips have the new kit too.

See every payment under Plan and billing

Manage lists each payment you have made: the date, the amount, what it paid for, and any refund. On a dollar plan, Download receipts opens your full receipt history.

Your reset date, in your own time zone

When your allowance runs out, the date your next videos arrive follows the time zone in your Settings. If a renewal payment has not gone through yet, the page says so.

Change your card on a naira plan

Naira subscribers can replace the card behind their plan inside ReelUse. Go to Plan and billing, then Manage, then Update payment method, and save the new card on the secure payment page. Your next renewal uses it.

Make a finished clip longer or shorter

Choose Trim / extend from a clip's ··· menu and drag either end to start or stop on a different word, up to about 12 seconds each way. Only that clip is made again. It does not count toward your allowance, and it works on every plan.

Remove or add a word in your captions

Edit captions lets you remove a word with its × or add a missing one with the +, as well as fix a spelling. The captions stay in time with the speech, and only that clip is made again. It does not count toward your allowance.

Clearer answers in your library

Try again, Archive and Delete say why when they can't go ahead. Run again shows how much of your allowance it will use, a run still working says so, and embed and livestream links work on the website and in the Mac and Windows app.

Branding in the desktop app matches the website

The desktop app's Branding page has the same sections as the website, Captions, Video look and Your brand, and keeps your logos and outros as libraries you can add to and switch between, right under the settings they belong to. Update the app to get it.

The Branding page is grouped into Captions, Video look and Your brand. Each upload sits under its own settings: logos beneath the logo controls, overlays beneath the overlay switch, outros beneath the outro switch.

A reminder before unused videos reset

If you still have videos left on your plan, we email you three days before your monthly allowance resets, or before a cancelled plan ends, so you can use them first.

Run again fetches the whole video once

Run again on a video link fetches the whole video once and makes every clip from it.

Runs start sooner from a link

When you paste a video link, ReelUse starts fetching it while you choose your options, and the run uses that fetch when you start.

Your outro on every clip

An outro saved without its own sound plays at the end of your clips like any other, with your music over it.

Clearer when a desktop run stops

A desktop run that stops before it finishes shows as Stopped, with nothing charged. Press Finish it in the Library to complete it.

Set how loud your music is

Choose Subtle, Balanced or Bold for the background music under your clips, in Branding on the web or in the Mac app. Subtle is the quietest; the words always stay on top.

Download the desktop app

ReelUse for Mac and Windows is a free beta on the Downloads page, using your same account and library. It works from the original recording on your computer. On Windows, the first open may show a security prompt: choose More info, then Run anyway.

After you report a problem, we email you when we start looking into it, when it's fixed, and if it turns out not to be a fault, with a short note on what we found.

The desktop app updates itself

New versions of ReelUse for Mac and Windows install from inside the app: it checks on launch and every few hours, then updates and restarts. The Mac app is signed and notarized, so your Mac opens it without a warning.

Turn down the background noise

Choose Reduce background noise on the Audio chip before you start a run. Speech is cleaned up, your music and outro are left alone, and the choice is remembered for next time.

Sign in with Google

Continue with Google sits beside the email link and your password, on the same account. Sign in one way first and choose Google with the same address, and the two are linked.

Clearer privacy wording

The privacy policy lists the kinds of page where measurement tools load, and describes the value sent to advertising platforms as pseudonymized rather than anonymous.

Every clip from your video, delivered

You get the full set of clips every time, including moments when your recording shows slides. If a clip holds a still picture, it came from your original recording, and the sound is unaffected.

Place your logo and handle anywhere

Put your logo and your social handle exactly where you want them on the clip, and set the size of each, with simple sliders in Branding. A live preview shows where they will sit before you start a run. Available with the Growth brand kit.

Named looks for your team

Pro teams can keep several named looks, each with its own captions, color, logo, outro, frame and music. Build them on the Looks tab, give each member a default, and everyone's clips carry the right one. A member can still pick another for one video.

Choose the look for one video

Pick a caption style, font, color grade, music and outro for one video from the Look chip on the start box, with a live preview. Branding stays as it is, and the video's card shows what it was made with.

A plainer caption font

Heros joins the caption fonts. It is neutral, no-nonsense lettering that stays out of the way of the words. Choose it under Font in Branding.

Caption previews match your settings

Caption placement in the Branding preview matches the finished clip, including stacked styles such as Ladder.

See the cost before you upgrade

See the amount due before confirming a bigger plan. You can upgrade after payment or schedule the change for renewal. A move to yearly starts that day; downgrades and a move from yearly back to monthly take effect at renewal.

Branding saves automatically

Change a color, font or branding setting and it saves automatically. The page confirms when your changes are saved.

A personal overlay for each team member

Each team member can choose a default from the shared overlay library. The owner manages the library, while each person keeps the right look on their clips.

Sharper clips and steadier framing

ReelUse uses the best available video quality, up to 4K, and follows the speaker closely in wide shots and lower-resolution footage. A larger source takes longer to process.

Work with recordings up to six hours

Recordings up to six hours long can be clipped. Choose the part you need to use less of your allowance.

Switch your outro on or off

Turn your outro off for new clips without deleting the file. Switch it back on whenever you need it.

File names you can recognize

Downloaded clips are named after their opening line, making them easier to find in a folder.

Share clips for review

Share a finished video by link so someone can watch and download its clips without an account. Videos stay private until you share them, and you can turn the link off at any time.

Use Report a problem beside the chat to tell us what happened. Add the video it concerns and a screenshot.
