What it is
Sometimes a clip starts a moment too late or runs a sentence too long. Trim / extend lets you pick a new first and last word, and pull in up to about 12 seconds of extra footage on either side.
Only that clip is made again, with your captions and branding. Its opening line, file name and post kit are rewritten for the new cut, so the caption you copy matches the clip you post.
How to use it
- Open a talk from your Library.
- Press the ··· button on the clip and choose Trim / extend.
- Drag the handles at each end to the first and last word you want. The new length shows at the bottom.
- Press Apply & re-render.
- Refresh the page after a minute or two to see the new version.
Good to know
- It does not use a talk. A clip cannot be shorter than about 3 seconds.
- A clip made in the desktop app is trimmed in the app on the computer that made it.
- If the original recording is no longer available, the clip cannot be trimmed. Run the talk again for a fresh set, which uses a talk.
