While a run works
A run in progress shows one bar in four parts: Transcribe, Find, Cut and Render. Under it, a line says what's happening now, for example Rendering 6 clips, and how long is left, for example about 13 minutes left. If a step runs well past its usual time, it says what is still happening, for example still rendering.
Clips can be chosen while the video is still downloading, so the steps can overlap.
Each clip appears as a line under the bar once it's chosen. When a clip is ready, its line gets a Watch link. A Watch clips ready now button opens the finished ones while the rest are still being made.
The first clip is usually ready in 10 to 15 minutes. You can close the tab at any point, and we email you when the clips are ready.
A run started in the Mac and Windows app may be made on your computer. Then the card says Keep the ReelUse app open and shows no time estimate. Its clips appear in your Library as each one finishes.
The three sections
In progress
Runs that are still working. They update themselves, so you don't need to refresh.
A run can show Recovering. That means a step went wrong and the run is trying it again by itself. It usually needs nothing from you. When ReelUse is busy, a run waits its turn, and the line under the bar says waiting for a moment. It carries on by itself.
Ready
Finished runs, newest first. Each row shows a frame from the first clip, the video's source and length, the date and how many clips came out. Click a row to open it.
When a run's clips are close to their storage limit, the row says so, for example clips expire in 3 days. Download anything you want to keep. See How long clips are kept.
A run that finished with nothing worth clipping says No clips found. A run whose clips have passed their storage time says Clips expired, and Run again makes a fresh set.
Didn't finish
Runs that failed or that you stopped, each with the reason. Each one has Try again and Delete. Clear all deletes every run in this section at once. It asks first, because it can't be undone.
Stop and Try again
Stop ends a run that is still working.
- Stopped before it started, while it was still waiting its turn: the video goes back to your allowance.
- Stopped after it started: the video stays used, because the work had begun. Try again on that run picks it up without using another video.
Try again on a failed or stopped run carries on from where it got to. It reuses the work already done, such as the transcript. Many failures are brief, so it often works the second time.
- A run that fails doesn't count toward your allowance. The video goes back automatically.
- So Try again on a failed run uses a video again, like a new run. If you have no videos left this month, it can't start.
- If the second try fails too, that video comes back again. A run that doesn't finish never counts.
- A run made in the Mac and Windows app is finished from the app. Open ReelUse on the computer that made it.

Recover, for an app run
When the app makes clips on your computer, the app has to stay open. If it closed partway, the run can sit in In progress with nothing working on it. After about 20 minutes with no progress, a Recover button appears next to Stop.
Recover closes the run and keeps any clips that finished. If none had finished, the video goes back to your allowance. To finish the run instead, open the app on that computer and press Finish it.
The run page
Open a finished run to see its clips, strongest first. The buttons at the top:

Share appears once a run has at least one clip.
Videos and Clips views
Switch between Videos and Clips at the top of your Library.
- Videos lists your runs. Choose List or Grid to change how they're laid out. Once you have more than 20 videos, a Search videos box finds a video by its title, and Show older videos loads the rest.
- Clips shows the clips from your most recent 60 runs, grouped by day. Choose This week or Earlier, then filter by All, Not posted, Posted or Starred. You can star a clip or mark it posted, and undo either mark.
Run again
Run again makes a fresh run of the same video. Use it after you change your Branding and want a new set made with it, or to get clips back after they passed their storage time.
The new run uses your Branding as it is today. A video made on a Look stays on that Look, as it is today. If the Look has since been deleted, or your plan doesn't include Looks, it uses your Branding. Changes you made just for that one video aren't carried over.
A run made in the Mac and Windows app can't be run again from the website. Start it again in the app, from the same file or link.
Runs on a team
A team shares one Library, so you see your teammates' runs as well as your own.
- When the Library holds runs from more than one person, each row says who ran it, for example Ran by you or Ran by Grace.
- A menu in the Ready section shows Everyone, just You, or one person's runs.
- Only the person who ran it, or the account owner, can delete, archive or restore a run. Everyone else can still open it, watch and download its clips.

Tidying up
Archive keeps everything
Archiving moves a run out of your Library and keeps its clips. Restore it any time from View archived at the bottom of the Library. Use it for last quarter's services.
Delete removes it for good
Deleting removes the run and every clip in it, permanently. Other runs of the same video, such as one made with Run again, keep their clips.
Several at a time
Press Select to get checkboxes on finished runs and runs that didn't finish, then press Archive or Delete. Runs still in progress can't be selected. Deleting several at once asks you to type the word delete first.
If some of what you selected can't be done, the rest still goes through, and a message says exactly what happened, for example Archived 9 runs (1 still running).
How long clips are kept
How long finished clips are stored depends on whether the account has ever paid.

- On a Free account that has never paid, we email you seven days before clips are removed, and the Library row shows how many days are left.
- Only the clip videos are removed. The run stays in your Library, so Run again can make a fresh set later.
- Clips you've downloaded are yours to keep. If a clip matters, download it.
