Making clips

Work from your own file (up to 6 hours)

Make clips straight from the original recording on your computer, up to 6 hours long, at full quality with no stream graphics.

What it is

A livestream is a squeezed copy of your service, often with lower thirds, lyrics or a countdown baked into the picture. The original recording has none of that. ReelUse for Mac and Windows makes clips straight from that file, so they keep full quality.

The full recording stays on your computer. Your clips land in the same Library as your web runs, so your whole team can find them.

How to use it

  1. Get ReelUse for Mac or Windows from the link under the box in your Library, and sign in with your usual account.
  2. On the Your recording tab, drop your file in or click to choose it.
  3. If you like, use Choose the section to mark where the talk starts and ends.
  4. Press Start and keep the app open until it finishes.

Good to know

  • MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM and M4V files work. The recording must be between 5 minutes and 6 hours long.
  • The website takes links only. To use a file, use the Mac or Windows app.
  • The Mac app needs Apple Silicon (M1 or later). There is no Linux app.

Where to find it

Library, the ReelUse for Mac or Windows link under the box at the top.

Plans: Every plan, including Free. On Free, the clips are made on our servers rather than on your computer.
