Pick up a run that didn't finish

A run that stopped part way can carry on from where it got to, so the work already done is not thrown away.

What it is

Runs that failed or were stopped sit under Didn't finish in your library. Try again picks a run up from where it got to and reuses the work already done, such as the transcript, instead of starting from nothing.

A run made in the desktop app is finished in the app. If the app closed part way, the Library there shows the run as Stopped with a Finish it button. On the website, a desktop run with no progress for about 20 minutes shows Recover, which closes the run and keeps any clips that finished.

How to use it

  1. On the website, find the run under Didn't finish and press Try again.
  2. In the desktop app, open the Library, find the run marked Stopped, and press Finish it.
  3. When the app asks, pick the same recording again. A run from a YouTube link fetches the video from its link instead.
  4. Away from that computer? Press Recover on the run's card in your web library to close it.

Good to know

  • A run that fails gives its talk back, so Try again on a failed run uses a talk again. A run you stopped after it began does not use another one.
  • Recover gives the talk back only if no clips had finished.
  • Clear all failed removes every failed and stopped run at once. It cannot be undone.
