What it is
The ReelUse app for Mac and Windows makes clips from the recording on your computer instead of a link. A livestream copy often has lyrics, lower thirds or a countdown baked in, and those end up in your clips. Your camera's own file does not have them.
Your full recording stays on your computer. Every run shows up in the same library as the website, so your team can download the clips there too. The app is a free public beta and keeps itself up to date.
How to use it
- Go to the Downloads page and choose Download for Mac or Download for Windows.
- Install it. On Windows, if you see Windows protected your PC, choose More info, then Run anyway. You only do this once.
- Sign in with your ReelUse email and password, a code we email you, or Continue with Google.
- On the Your recording tab, drop in your file or click to pick it. You can paste a YouTube link on the Link instead tab.
- Start the run and keep the app open. You get a notification when Your clips are ready.
Good to know
- Mac needs Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 11 or newer. It does not run on an Intel Mac. Windows needs a 64-bit PC.
- A recording must be at least 5 minutes and no longer than 6 hours. MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM and M4V all work.
- Changing your plan, paying, and changing your password or email open the website.

Plans: Every plan, including Free. On Free, our servers make the clips rather than your computer. Plan features like Looks (Pro) and Moments (Growth and Pro) work the same as on the website.
